Soft Top Studio

Software studio · UK · est. 2026

Useful, fun software. Sometimes for an audience of one.

Soft Top Studio is a one-person studio. I'm Martin, a software engineer. I build apps, websites and data tools, with a soft spot for football, surf, agentic data engineering and technology that actually helps. All of it burns a lot of tokens.

Some things I make are for clients, some are for everyone, and some are just for me. All of them should work, and ideally make someone happy.

APPS

Mobile and web apps, kept small enough to finish and polished enough to keep.

WEBSITES

Simple, fast sites that load before the kettle boils and are easy to look after.

BURNING TOKENS

Agents and language models put to work where they actually help, with data and with everyday jobs. The code keeps the score; the model writes the words.

Why "Soft Top"

Named after the board anyone can ride

A soft top is a foam surfboard. Beginners learn on one because it floats and forgives mistakes, but plenty of good surfers ride one too, especially on an average day in England. It's easy to pick up, fun at every level, and makes the most of the waves you actually get.

That's the plan for the Soft Ware too: easy to learn, fun to use and helpful for everyone, whatever their level.

Mission

Shaping Soft Top software, and making waves

I started out on MS-DOS and Windows 3.11, with a Minitel in the hallway. Old school.

Today the tools come with AI built in, and I find that exciting: it's powerful, and genuinely revolutionary. My mission is to help anyone catch that wave, by shaping things that are useful, or fun, or both.
